Jensen AWM968

We got our new Cedar Creek Cottage CCK and love it. Have a question about the AWM968. The surround sound works great when playing a DVD, but can you use surround sound for TV as well? We have tried and can't get TV to play surround sound. We have a cable box.

Also have an Ipod for MP3 and cannot get those to play either.

If anyone has had these problems and figured out how to make it work would you please share.

Thanks in advance for all the help.

Jerri

I know on our setup we have to go into the audio settings on the Jensen TV and turn the TV speakers Off, and then we get the TV audio through the 968 speakers. We don't have true surround - just the front speakers and sub-woofer.

I hope this helps you; reply to the thread or pm me let me know how it goes. I will be in the rig this weekend and may be able to give step by step help if needed!

Oh yeah, I missed the bottom of your post. I would suggest pairing your iPod to the 968 Bluetooth so you can play music from the iPod to the 968 wirelessly. It worked pretty well for me when I tried it.

Again, let me know if questions. You may want to have the 968 manual nearby when working on it again!

I got the surround sound working, but cannot get the IPod to work. I plugged it into the USB port and it says loading but it never will play.

How do I do the bluetooth thing you are talking about.

Below is a link to the manual for the 968 unit. Page 15 of the 40 page document, which is page 13 of the manual, shows step by step instructions on using the Bluetooth features, including pairing devices. When I have gone out, I have had my iPhone, iPod, and iPad paired at different times, and enjoyed music from all 3. Was able to listen to music saved on the devices as well as iTunes Radio for a nice mix

I tried to copy just the txt from that page but it wasn't working well from my iPad, and figured you having the whole manual in digital format might be preferred anyhow. I have it saved in my iBooks for easy reference.

If you need some help, send me a PM with your phone number and maybe I can call and help you with it next time I am in the rig!

My Nano Ipod 4th generation does not have bluetooth. I thought I could plug it in with the USB but I can't get it to work that way.

Thanks for your help.

I'll have to check to see if my iPod will work plugged in to the unit or not. Do u have an iPhone or other smart phone with Bluetooth? It will play music from those also.

I'll check it out and let you know!

Is there an AUX jack on the Jensen unit that you can connect the headphone jack on the iPod with a 3.5mm male to male cable?

Jerri...if you get a dual male headphone type jack cord for a couple of bucks from amazon...you can plug your Nano into the A/V jack on the bottom right of the AV968.
