Leave fridge on???
Hi everyone! I was wondering if its ok to leave the fridge on in between camping trips(try to go every other weekend)so we wouldn't have to unload it and reload it every time. Has any body done this? Any info would be great.

Only time mine is off is when it's put away for the winter.

You'll only be able to use it without being plugged in for a short time. Most newer fridges have electronic ingition, they will not run on propane only (like the fridge in my pop up did). I believe that it was a three way fridge, my travel trailer fridge is only two way... (also had to light a pilot for the propane on the pop up fridge).

Yes, when home, I keep the camper plugged in so the refrigerator can run on electric. If you are only running the refrigerator, you will only need to plug into a 15-20 amp receptacle. You only need 30 amps for running other major appliances like the a/c or microwave. The circuit board on the refrigerator will kill your cabin battery in less than a week, so power is a must to keep your stuff from spoiling.

Yes our runs from Arp - Oct and stays plugged in at home all the time. 1 keep fridge on because we don't take all the food out when we come home, 2 keeps the battery charged which will be drained down by the propane alarm if not plugged in or a battery charger on it.

To run the fridge you will always need battery power even with gas.
If you run your fridge 24/7 you will need to be plugged in somewhere.
