LED Strip Under Awning

We recently purchased a Sunseeker 3050. I noticed on one of the other models it has a LED strip of lights under the awning next to where the awning attached to the motor home...Anyone know of a way to order these?

A lot of people have added LED awning lights, I intend to add them to my TT but haven't yet. Go up to the top of this page and enter "LED Awning lights" in the search box (make sure the FRF dot is highlighted) and I am sure you will find several threads to get you through it.

Looks like a lot of the 2014's are coming with those standard now. I really like the way they look.

My 2014 came w/ that LED light strip. Be careful if you order these lights from Ebay. I bought a set for my old RV and when the transformer got wet one time, then didn't work anymore.

Our 2013 Columbus 295RL 5th wheel came stock with them from the factory and we love them, they put a lot of pure white light out there. Plus with them under the awning they work whether the awning is up or down.
If you order LED strips online be careful since there is so much cheap stuff out there. Buy from a reputable source where you can return them if necessary.

I just ordered led lights from Ebay. You have to make sure they are waterproof, they are a little more expensive than the non waterproof, but they are worth it. I love my outdoor lights and had lots of people ask where I got them. They can be attached to the metal strip that runs along the camper where the awning attaches to the camper. If interested look for Led Car lights but make sure they are waterproof.

LED Strip Under Awning

I found the Dometic LED strip works great under the awning.

A little silicone rubber around the connectors works great to keep out moisture even in a heavy rain or driving along the highway.

I got mine from Camping World, here in Houston (Katy) Texas and spent less than an hour installing it.

Man-0-Man is that bright stuff!

Pics of the LED striip

There ya go. You may notice that I've changed out all of the coach lighting with LED's. The original tail lights are from Command Technologies and were an easy conversion with thier upgrade kit.

How did you mount then and get power to them?

LED strip

I ran the connection line down the after mounted upright bracket for the awning. Drilled a hole in the side of the van; comes in the van just above the floor and plugs into the AC outlet 3 inches away, on the wall in the bedrooom.

I got mine from a company called HitLights found them online for $40 where some RV retailers wanted nearly $150. All different colors and even a remote. I put mine in a clear light trak at the end of the awning.

The LED awning light strip is now standard on all Dometic power awnings. It is even set up with its own rocker switch on the control panel. Great feature.

You might check with Dometic and see if you can order directly from them. They might even have some installation suggestions.

I found a 17 foot outdoor LED light strip at Lowe's for $20. It attaches to the awning channel hooks and plugs into the power outlet on the side of the TT.

2014...but our 2014 Windjammer with Dometic power awning does not have them. When we toured the Rockwood plant two weeks ago, I asked when they started putting them on as standard equipment. June...and ours was build in March. And according to Rockwood, they can't easily be retrofitted.

Our 2014 Surveyor Select 305 came with awning LED strip on the awning but we don't use it because its so bright and harsh. Makes me feel like I'm on a Broadway stage or in a surgical procedure room. I guess if I need to dig a splinter out of my sons foot or something I may be glad we have them but other than that they are useless to us.
