Logitech Harmony 880

I hope this is the correct thread.

Has anyone out there had any luck in controlling the ZX700 with a Hormony 880?

I did a quick look over at Remote Central and HiFi Remote and didn't find anything but you could post your question at either place and may get a response.

I think you can also have the remote learn commands from the Concertone remote.

Yup, I have taught the 880 the commands and I can control the box, however I have to go to the device screen on the 880 to do this. I think this may be more of an 880 question than a concertone one

Are you getting good range ? better ? with the standard remote, it's quite short even with new batteries.

Thanks.

The range is fine, even with the original remote I can bounce it off the front wall to the ZX700 which is in the cupboard at the back, a range of around 35-40 feet.

Response from Support =

"I’m not sure that the Harmony 880 has the codes for ZX700 (it does however have the codes for ZX600/ ZX500).

But even so, the remote has a “learning” capability so the customer will have to “learn” each command for the ZX700 from the original ZX700 remote control and that should work fine."

Sounds like your on t hat path already.

Thanks Bob, working along that route and will hopefully be able to get all the codes into the logitech data base for others to use. Pretty sure the problems is with me and the 880. I programmed it for use at home a couple of years ago and remember it was a pain to get right until I mastered the beast, then it was easy. Of course I have now forgotten all I learnt back then!

As this is "my" thread, a little thread drift is ok! Bob, would you happen to know where I can get an IR receiver to plug into the ZX-700, as I posted in a different thread, the unit is located in a cupboard and I'd like to have a remote receiver cable up by the TV.
