Loss of power when hooked to shoreline

I just bought my Hemisphere 300BH 2 months ago. This is my third use of it luckly here at home with the issue im having. I hooked up to shoreline at home and everything was working except for the main A/C. It would come on, run 30 seconds and go off. Everything else in the unit is working. After about 20 minutes I lost power to everything except for the front bedroom AC, the microwave and the bathroom vent fan. I checked all the breakers and no are tripped. I reset them all anyway and no help here. I decided to unplug and hook back up to the truck and everything is working. I plug back into shoreline and everythign is working...for 20 minutes like before. Any ideas?

Thanks!
Frustrated.

Electrician down the street installed a 50 amp breaker for me. I'm a home inspector but not up to speed on RV's just yet.

See this thread to make sure the electrician hook your plug up correctly.

Sounds like your electrician wired the 50A outlet incorrectly for an RV??.

Good Luck

This sounds like a loose connection. As it gets hot, it disconnects (wherever the loose connect is).

I had a similar problem on an older unit, and found a burned wire nut in a main junction box.

The converter is bad. Battery is dead. Everything is working with a battery charger in the battery, but I'll have to have the converter replaced. Was only pulling 4 amps inside at the panel that's how I figured it out seeing the fires weren't blown on the converter.

I would continue to search for proper available amps. Low amps will effect the AC (possible burn it too). Plug a meter in a receptacle, monitor your voltage and your amps.

Glad you figured out your issue.
Make sure you get a PI EMS to protect your new converter.

You can't click on anything in this thread to start a new thread. If you're on the full site with a browser, click on the sub-forum where you want to start a new thread (in this case, it's Appliances and Electronics - http://www.forestriverforums.com/forums/f113/. Under the word Portal at the top, there's a button New Thread. Click that.
