Mach 3
My year old Mach 3 has developed a whirring sound and has increased in operation volume. I have checked to make sure that the blower cage was not rubbing against anything......took the outside cover off to discover no oil ports for motor and to get to the blower side of motor can't really be done without destroying the gasket that covers the blower side of the motor. There is no play in the shaft....turns freely with no resistance but the whirring sound is there as if there is something between the aramature and windings. Anybody ever come up against this before? I have contacted Airexcel just to make sure I have some sort of documentation before the warranty expires. My dealer is over 700 miles away and he usually just sends me what I need for warranty issues and I do the repair myself. I have only run it for a few minutes as needed this season....haven't really run it long enough to see if it would quiet on it's own.
