Believe DXSMac has a Sunseeker on a Ford chassis - not a Sprinter. The metal wire extractors should work.

Ok, on MY model, you can't use any old SD card. I have the "rear" card, which means I have to pull the radio. Your unit (if you bought it new, or bought it used and the previous owners provided all the stuff) should come with two U shaped tools. I have those. They were in a bag of wires meant for my backup camera. They are in a separate little bag with a screw. The rep said don't worry about the screw, just use the U shaped tools to pull the radio. There are two holes on each side of the unit, I looked, yes, the holes are obvious. The rep said to push the two U's in NO MORE THAN AN INCH and you can wiggle the radio out and get the card and use the NaviExtras software.

Or the other option is to take it in to a professional car stereo place. The rep said to go to a professional car stereo place, not an RV dealer if you want to have the thing removed.

Ugh.

I'm afraid I will mess it up if I do it myself.
You won't mess it up.
The U shaped tools work just like you said. Push each one into the holes on each side of the radio about an inch. You might feel/hear a click when they engage in the release tabs (or you may not) but you'll be able to tell.

After inserted, holding the U shaped tool at the U, apply slight outward (away from the center of the radio) pressure to release the tabs and the radio will slide right out in your hands. It's really simple. A stereo place could do it in 10 seconds or less so don't go there and pay to have it done!

Yes, I am a Sunseeker on a Ford Chasis.

Ok, I tried sticking the U thingies in. I stuck them in until I heard a "click." I tried working it out with my thumbs. Couldn't get it to move.

I'M TOO SCARED!!!!

Ok, I guess I just won't get any updates.

HAS ANYONE ELSE TRIED THIS????????

Once you stick them in, you have to spread/pull outward on the tools (towards the right and left) and pull.
You will only be holding on to the tools not the radio.
The tabs on the sides of the radio that the tools release, will only release by spreading outward on the tools.

Ok, I guess you kind of said that in your previous message but I didn't quite get it. Thanks for clarifying. I'll try again!

Update: Ok, I just did that. Put the U things in, and spread outward. I guess I'm still scared of breaking it, or breaking the tabs or something. I'll try later on.

Can someone post a photo of these U shaped tools?

Well, I gave it one more try. The rep on the phone said "not more than an inch." Well, I found that at the 1.25 inch point, the U Tool stopped when you put it in. I tried both at the 1 inch and the 1.25 all the way in, and I can't get it out. I tried spreading like what was explained, I can't. I think it's partly I'M SCARED I'M GONNA BREAK SOMETHING!!!!!!

I would be apprehensive also but perhaps you can give it one more try.

The rep said "not more than an inch" so go in very slowly up to an inch and see if you feel anything catch then spread the tools as mentioned in a previous post.

It DOES "catch" at the 1 inch point, and when I tried, I couldn't get anything to move. I may try one more time. If I get it, I'll post directions.

I never removed a radio on an RV but it may be that the tools you are using have to move some tabs that hold the radio in the dash. Sometimes those tabs are small and only have to move a fraction of an inch.

Try pulling on the radio while you have the tools spread. I think a previous poster advised you to push the tool ends to the outside once you have them in the tabs. It may not be obvious that you did anything until you pull on the radio.

The rep on the phone said "work it out with your thumbs" (to include the "Spread"). I gave it one more try, tried to "work it out" and it seemed like way too much effort.

I just don't know what to do at this point. I don't think calling them again would help. I'll see if there is a video.

Just googled, and found that the Solera forum had the same problem as I:

http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...yne-63436.html

Turns out you have to remove the trim before you remove the radio. FORGET IT! NOT DOING THAT!

Disregard the problems you read about on the Solera! They don't apply to your chassis. Two different animals. The Solera can not use the "U" wires.

Take a look st the diagram and text in this link. It may help you visualize the process.

Also, try doing one side st a thing me and "walk" it out.

Basic Ford locks.
Don't go in too far. Don't wreck the locks. Otherwise you have to pull the dash.

Well, here is a picture of the corner of my radio when I was trying to figure out the SD card slot. I have a 2013 coach on a 2012 chasis.

Ok, I will give it one more try and try one at a time. I have the 1 inch point marked with duct tape on the U tool.
