Need a replacement for your Concertone?

Hello everyone, I'm new hear. Just purchased a 2009 Puma 30FQSS and spent the last week camping in the upper middle states (Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota) on our way back home to Wpg. I'm Canadian eh! The dealer had given us the option of installing a LCD and stereo system but I declined. Some 19" LCD with 5.1 surround system for $1000.00 extra. I stopped in at Best Buy and picked up a 26" LCD that fits perfectly for $399.00. Everyone seems to be having problems with their Concertone units so I found an excellent replacement! The Pyle Audio PLDVCR500 DVD/VCR combo, plays everything but a slice of bread and records too! I know with the new PVR's and such on the market that VCR's may be passe but for $225.00 how can you go wrong. The units fits perfectly into the square hole the Concertone is in and also has a remote. Google the unit for more info.

Nice to know we have an option!

Cheers and happy RVing

Pete

Will this unit interface with the surround sound system that comes with the concertone? Is that why an amplifier is needed? Thanks

No this would be a replacement to the square DVD/CD/radio unit in the basic system. The ZX600 I believe. The down side is that it is a front end unit and has no amp so I will have to drive the speakers with a 4ch car amp. I was looking up the upgrade version for my Puma 30FQSS, when I noticed the large number of posts on the Concertone. This prompted me to find car player and I found the Pyle product. I haven't received the units yet so will post when completed.

The ZX600 Concertone is a surround sound unit with weather band, etc.

Is your new system a 12 volt system then too??

And it doesn't even have it's own amplifier.
You can do much better just buying an upper end car radio.
There are Kenwoods out there that have AM FM, CD , MP3, DVD
and their own amp built in and they are of course 12v.
And they are blue tooth compatible and come with a remote.
If they don't fit the hole perfectly that's not that big an issue to
make/purchase a filler plate.
