New Dometic Cooling Unit Bad

Last fall I had my cooling unit replaced under warranty. Brought it home, plugged it in, started to get cold, turned off thinking I was good to go. I put it up in storage and didn't use it again until late Spring. The night before that trip I ran it overnight and it started to get cold, when I mean cold the freezer has a light coating of frost and the refrigerator is cooler than outside temperature. Turned it off again, got to our campsite turn it on, same thing but this time leaving it on longer it actually got warmer instead of cooler. The little bit of frost in the freezer had melted and the refrigerator was warm. I have run every test, installed a fan, replaced the control board, run it on propane, tested the thermistor and heating element. Same result, not wanting to believe it is the cooling unit but it looks like that is the reality. Now it is out of warranty and my dealer didn't have a problem letting me know that. Only other thing is maybe that didn't install it properly and it is leaking air in the back chasing the outside temperature.

Call Dometic direct and see if they will warranty it. May have to have an authorized repair center to confirm, but I would think they should warranty it for you. Dealers don’t want to do the extra work because they don’t get anything for it

I have talked to them, basically they told me since it was replaced under warranty it reverts back to the original date. Had I've purchased it, it would have a 2 year warranty. I may try to call them again but I would hate to sink anymore money into it. It is ashame that they sell a product for that price that is so unreliable.

Off to the landfill it goes. Removed it and took to my dealer to have their guy look at it. They reafirmed it was toast, didn't really give a good explanation. They turned it upside down for a day or so and then turned it on. He told me it got cold enough but the next day it started to warm back up to the point of being useless. I and they contacted Dometic again but they refused to help because it was outside the original warranty date. Anyway I just ordered a cheap electric one and will go that route for now.
