No power at T-Stat

Went out to the 5'er to load up fridge for trip tomorrow. I noticed one of the LED lights in my breaker panel was illuminated. Removed 15amp furnace fuse and installed a new one, it immediately popped the fuse. The camper has been hooked to 15amp shore power for almost 2 weeks since last trip. Everything worked fine two weeks ago. Now no power to the thermostat. I have power to the t-stat in the bedroom, but it does not control the furnace. Battery is fully charged and everything else in the camper appears to be working on battery power. Lights, slides, etc. Battery shows 12.35V.

Question, does the 12V that comes into the t-stat come from the main a/c in the living room or from some other source? I am familiar with residential HVAC but not RV furnace. Is there a transformer in the A/C to step it down to 12v when you are hooked to shore power? Any suggestions on how to check and see why I'm getting no power to t-stat?

BD, my guess would be the power to t-stat would come from the furnace, which is already 12v and would switch a relay in AC to power it on.

I agree since you should be able to run your furnace without being hooked to 110v AC which is required for the air conditioner.

Fixed

I took everything out of the cargo bay and removed the inside wall. What a rats nest. I crawled (best I could) over to the furnace. Piled on top of the furnace was a nest of wires crimped together. I pulled down the nest and found one wire stripped back about 3 1/2 to 4 inches and bare. I thought if that was laying against the furnace, there is my short. Pulled it down and placed it where it couldn't touch anything. Inserted fuse. Good to go. Placed cover on t-stat and turned on the furnace. It fired right up. So, back into the cargo bay to fix what the factory should have done right the first time. Then put everything back, and clean up. Now I'm ready to roll out tomorrow.
