Not Time For Furnace But Makes Noise When Turned On

I have a 2004 Forest River Flagstaff 5th wheel, was checking furnace when I turned it on it was making a bad rattling noise any ideas?

Just to make sure the advice is tailored to the problem, I am assuming you mean the "furnace" and not the water heater....but we need to make sure as the terminology can be confused.

Agree with "wmtire": IF the furnace/heater there could be a couple of things making this noise, fan out of balance or something caught in one of the blades. A piece of sheet metal rubbing the fan, just all sorts of possible things. So please clarify which heater, the people warming heater or the water heater.

If its the furnace you may have a blower wheel out of balance or coming loose, there may also be some little critter causing the imbalance. in any case I would start with checking the blower wheel.

When you get time to look at the squirrel cage blower, I bet you will find a dead mouse or at least his nuts and debris in the cage.
