Oops ! Shattered the stovetop glass...
WOW ! So lucky I was not facing the stovetop when it shattered into a milllion pieces..thank goodness for safety glass ! I made the huge mistake of making hot water for coffee..then for some reason, closed the cover and hours later stood next to the table when the glass top EXPLODED... all is well and we swept, vacuumed and wiped up all the little pieces ... guilty as hell....now we have to replace the glass top...anyone have some direction as to website to order replacement for 3 burner Rockwood 192 HW Aframe camper ?
Thanks in advance ...Be careful out there !!!!

Why wouldn't you go to the dealer where you bought the trailer from to get your glass?

Most likely because it will be the most expensive option for replacement.

===================
Had the same problem last summer on our 2016 3029W Windjammer. Went to General RV in Wixom, Michigan and had Scott in OEM parts order a new glass cover for us. It ran under $100.
There are different styles so be very careful ordering a new cover off the Internet. I gave Scott the year, model number and VIN number of the trailer. He went back to Forest River and got the correct part number & ordered it. Took about 15 minutes to put it on.
Biggest problem was cleaning every tiny piece of glass from inside the top of the stove.
Good luck.

I would consider making a cover out of wood. When the stove isn't in use it will make a far more durable surface to use as additional counter top. Of course if you close it with the burners on you will have a disaster.

Ours had the old folding metal cover. I removed the cover and put this on the stove top.

I would be wary of anything flammable on a stove top. We just had a toaster start smoldering (internal parts shorted - not crumbs), but, it was made of metal so we didn't get a fire. Trailers are just tinderboxes that can go up quickly with disastrous results. Just think if that glass top had been wood. By the time you found it you may not have had a trailer, or worse yet you may have been burned or killed. If it is flammable, keep it away from the stove or other sources of flame. Find a glass or metal replacement.

Question answered....and a caution
SO....yes the reason the saftey glass exploded and shattered into a million pieces was that I left the flame on BY MISTAKE with the top down...and caution everyone else to learn from my experience...will never do THAT again
Kathy at Forest River parts department was so awesome in helping us order the replacement glass top...and the correct parts number from warehouse...it's on it's way and we will let you know how installation goes...although it may not reach us by next week when we will be bring the Aframe camper to storage facility for the campers winter nap....

Underneath the glass, the electric element or fuel burner stays hot and loses its heat slowly. Putting the cover on allowed the heat to build up since the elements were still hot and there was no air circulation to help reduce the temperature.
Being careful is not helpful to me, knowing more about cooking and cooking tools is, as well as slowing down and thinking about what you are doing in the kitchen.
One of the most important things you learn in Chef's school is controlling temperatures in all phases of cooking.
