Outdoor fridge, proper shutdown

There's a little freezer in the fridge. What do you folks do knowing it will defrost when you end your camping vacation?

I threw a towel below it and when I docked home, opened the outside fridge and removed the towel. It was soaked.

Put a hole in the drain pan and attach a connector with tubing that goes around the side to a drain bottle that you can access and empty

Mine has a drain pan to .....

But I can never get it out because the door doesn't open up far enough to allow it to.

I let it sit with the door open and put towels, newspaper or a chamoise in the bottom while it defrosts. After that I prop it open so it wont mold.

Mine also have the drain pan, what we do is this, the last morning of the camping trip the fridge is empty or almost empty, (we take whats left and moved it inside)we unplug the power leave the fridge door open a little and by the time we leave the campground is dry. Wipe it down with paper towel and it's done and clean until next trip. And this is how it looks after a year and a half!
