Are you sure your oven has a pilot light? Mine does not. I use a butane long match to light the oven burner.

Most ovens have neither a pilot light or a spark ignitor. A lighter is required.

Question. If you do not have a pilot light, when your oven gets to temperature and the burner turns off. How does it relight to get back up to temperature?

I've never seen an rv oven without a pilot and since you got it lit yours must have one. Pilot flame must be high enough to heat the thermpile that controls the main burner. It's a small tube above the pilot. You can check if that's the problem by using a long lighter when the oven is turned up and holding its flame up at the thermopile. If that doesn't work either the thermopile is bad or the main valve is blocked or bad.

My oven was very out of adjustment and would not heat up. The newer ovens don't go back to pilot just to a low level flame that won't get above warm in the oven. It's controlled by a screw under the oven knob. I don't recommend adjusting that yourself. If it's still under warantee I'd take it in.

Thanks everyone! I have a 11 surveyor and it definitely has an oven pilot, which stays lit, but when we go to turn on the main oven the burner tube in the oven doesn't light. Looks like I'm taking it in!

That was happening to the oven in my Trailmanor. The safety valve that supplies propane to the burner was bad.
