in a 2010 sunseeker 3100ss with a 3 burner stovetop and oven below, how do you light the oven? is the ignititor that is used for the stove also used for the oven or do you have to get on your knees with a match?? thanx

Yep, just like mine. I'd suggest using a flashlight and wand-type lighter. Depressing the oven knob and lighting the pilot at the same time requires a little dexterity. Good luck

Also suggest a extra long wand lighter! U can do it with a standard lighter but it is SO MUCH easier with the long version.

My lady leaves the rig when I light the oven...(She insists, "Someone has to call 911.) Of course I have to make a little Iowa humor and slam a book on the floor before she reaches the door.....but always careful not to spill my drink.

Long or short lighter, it doesn't matter it is still a PITA to get that oven pilot light started!! Maybe Lou with his military contacts can get each of us a flame thrower!

Flame thrower! I was thinking about a $6 million dollar multi purpose military lighter with a robotics arm that extended itself into the oven and lit the pilot light while you sat back and drank a beer. And of course it would have 8,600 led lights to see and a botlle opener.
oh and as an option it would dump your sewer while you sat in the truck. But that's another 1.5 million.

After spending 20-25 minutes trying to light the oven I learned to keep the knob pressed for about 10 seconds after lighting.

the next step after that is that it would take the trailer out for us and when it got back would tell us if we enjoyed it or not...

That is AWESOME!
Mine lights pretty easily actually... I use a long handled wand lighter and have no issues.

So I guess I'm not the only DW that is afraid to light the oven? My DH thinks I'm nuts, but things like this scare the bejesus out of me.

I have the same oven, and used it a couple of weeks ago. It lit easily with the wand lighter, and I followed the directions in the manual. The last couple of times I wanted to use the oven, I couldn't get it to light and finally gave up. The range burners light easily, but not the oven.
I push the knob in and keep it in, light the wand lighter and put in under the oven thing inside and count to 15, and nothing happens.
Any suggestions?
