Just to be clear, it pilot has to be "lit" for about 30 seconds before you can release the knob.

I concur with Triguy. If the oven will lit, but not stay lit it is most like a bad thermocouple.

You don't have a fan on anywhere do you? I had trouble getting my oven to stay lit until I turned off the Fantastic Fan in the bathroom.
Great choice for "Living within my means" and camping for one...

I bought a 2011new off the lot that would not stay lit. The dealer played with it a bit and decided to order a new oven control. All was well after that.
