What comes to mind is that maybe your USB Jump Drive is possibly having compatibility issues. Trying to read, then fails in the end. Not uncommon, and depending how your USB Jump Drive is Formatted. Also, make sure you have your radio settings set for USB, which I'm sure you most likely did have, but just noting it.
Have you another USB Stick you could try. You know how fussy electronics can be.
