Bought my current 2015 CC Silverback last July. We've made several trips And the unit worked fine. Two weeks ago we made a trip with family and the main 15k btu AC wasnt cooling. We made it okay for a few days with the 13,500 unit, but it ran a lot. The thing is, the main AC compressor sounded normal when it started, but no cooling at all. After getting home, I pulled the cover and checked the current draw, which was on the low side of normal. Everything inside the AC cover seemed to be normal, so I put the cover back on.
I have an appt on Friday, June 24 to have it checked at a Dometic service center. I'm fairly certain the unit has a freon leak. Everything I've read suggests that my unit is just another of Dometic's many failures. For those who have been through this, how long has it taken to get a replacement unit from Dometic?

Had no issues with either my Dometic 15K or 13.5K AC. I am not counting knocking a cover off on a swinging clearance bar at Walmart. Pilot error.

@Davidg: I've had two (2) units replaced on my '15 unit. The local service guy had them at his shop in two (2) days. Takes maybe 45 minutes to exchange. Your symptoms sound as mine were. Hopefully this last replacement will be the last.

Thurman; thanks,...I sure hope that Dometic has figured out and fixed the issue. I read where Dometic has offered an additional 3 years of warranty for $166. Given their recent unit performance, that might be worth looking at....although the very idea gives me a case of the RA.

We've had out trailer for just over a year. The stock 15k unit was replaced last summer after it started freezing up and not cooling. We had planned to go atv'ing this weekend. I went out yesterday afternoon to load up, so I turned the a/c on to make sure it was working. Shocker, it was blowing hot air again. I let it run for a while, but the air in and out was both 90. It isn't freezing up this time. We've only used it for maybe 2 weeks combined and it's dead again. I called the local shop that replaced it last time and made an appointment to drop it off next week. Hopefully it's repaired in time for our trip in 2 weeks. I'm hoping they will replace it under warranty yet again, and #3 will last longer than 1 and 2. I know one thing, I will never, ever buy a Dometic a/c unit.

Well, I took the fiver to the local Jayco dealer who is an authorized Dometic service center. Took them about an hour to determine that the freon had all leaked out. He called Dometic and they are sending a new air conditioner. Should be in next week. Hope this one holds up better than this one.

The service manager said we would make an appt, and they would install it while I wait...shoukd take about an hour. Shoot, I probably wont even unhook from it.

He also told me that Dometic is offering 3 additional years of warranty for $89. Someone had posted about that, but said the cost was $166. For $89, I'll take that.

FWIW I sent an e-mail to Dometic about the TSB's or to see if they would furnish any info on the problems. They may or may not tell me anything. I shall see.
