I would also take the 3 years of extended warranty at $89. My local service gave me a copy of the TSB that Dometic sent to him. Two pages of political type reading of how the manufacturer of the units failed to properly clean residual flux off of connections which leads to premature failure of soldered connections thus leading to refrigerant leakage. But still no extension of original warranty from Dometic.

It won't do MACH 2, but I can get a sandwich and take a pee.

During our 50 years +/- of RV'ing, this is the first AC failure we've had.

Last summer, on our brand new 322RLDS, our 15k was dead from day one. The unit's fans worked and you could even hear the compressor kick in but never got cold. Dealer said they tested it during their PDI and it worked fine. Yeah, ok, whatever. Got it replaced in 2 days and it worked flawlessly during our 3 month stay in Florida last winter. No offer of an extended warranty was mentioned.

Dometic sure doesnt seem to be pushing the extended warranty are they? Its even difficult to locate on their website. That little fact doesnt give me the warm and fuzzies either. I sure hope they've resolved the issues. And dealers dont seem to understand how to purchase the extended warranty either. A FB friend had bought one and sent me the link. Anyway, good luck.

Wow, it looks like they are replacing bad units with bad units instead of ones that were not made in China.

After 4 months, our Wildwood is at the dealership now getting the 15k AC replaced.
The service manager said he just got a shipment of brand new units for warranty replacements. He had a stack of about a dozen units that they've replaced, and Dometic doesn't even want the old ones back.

I have replaced two so I am on my third one in less than a year. New order and took delivery 6-18-15. AC froze up 9/15 and was replaced by my dealer. Next one stopped cooling on a trip to Mt. Airy NC in May of this year. Mobile service tech replaced it with a Penguin the next day. Motorhome is always plugged in to shore power at home and AC is set to come on at 88 degrees.

1st. Kudos for an answer 2nd. It wasn't the answer I was looking for.

Chetty,
Good morning,
Thank you for contacting Dometic. Our AC are seal units. Depending what is going on with your ac that is not working replacing might be best. Warranty is 2 years from the date of purchase for the original owner.
We appreciate this opportunity to address your situation and hope all of your future travels are trouble free. Please do not hesitate to contact us at any time to order parts or for further assistance.

Sincerely,
Jenni

Message: Hello,

I am seeing a number of complaints on the Dometic Brisk Air II 15K a/c units. Has a cause and solution been found for the repair of these units or is a replacement the only/best option? I have successfully repaired other coils in the past, but I am unclear if a "patch job" on these would be effective or replacement is the only option. I was told there is a TSB on these units, but have not found/seen one. Please let me know your thoughts.

Thank You,

Chetty
