Thanks! I guess I'm not the only one with radio issues! I'll try a different antenna.

Coachmen Prism, and many other similar motor homes (MH's), are built on a Mercedes Sprinter base. All of them have taken the usual Sprinter antenna off the front roof, because of the configuration of the MH. The roof antenna is replaced by the Mickey Mouse inside antenna, which doesn't provide good reception.
Look at a non MH Sprinter (many ambulances, delivery vans, etc.), to see what I mean.
Now you know something about the Mercedes roof!!!

I rec'd my 48" sectionless whip antennas today so I ran out and installed 'em.

Rear DUAL radio is not very good quality...signal improved 3X.

Front radio/entertainment center improved at least 4X.

Remember...all I care about is AM radio. Obviously FM reception will improve markedly with these however I don't listen to RAP. Maybe a bit of NPR.

All I did was unscrew the RubberDucky and attach the whip with a small clamp. It's ugly...works quite well for the investment. I consider the issue fixed.

For transport I'll loosen the phillips head screw and drop the antenna parallel to the roof.

The lighted antenna on the windshield is useless! Keeps falling down! I think I'll just remove it. I bought a new antenna and I'm curious to see if it works any better! (can't be worse) Thanks!!

It's easy to see if it will work better. Simply purchase a "normal" outside mounted whip antenna, get access to the back of the Jensen radio in the dash, unplug the existing antenna, and plug in the new one while holding it outside. If your reception is improved (mine was much improved), install the outside antenna permanently, and cut off the rinky dink tape antenna.
Access to the back of the radio is a little hard, but not too much. You have to remove several pieces of fascia.
