Power problems
Surveyor hybrid tt. 5 years, no problems. Tonight, the alarm went off, for low/no power. The battery is connected and connected to shore power. Turning a light on, made the alarm stop, but so very dim. I checked my power cord, it may have been not plugged in well. I cleaned battery terminals. Battery water fluid is fine. So with everything plugged in fine, the microwave clock was on, the power light on the fridge started to glow, then after about 5 minutes, the low power alarm would come back on. Again, trying to turn on a light would kill the alarm, but no real light, just super dim one.
Thoughts? Did I drain the battery to low to get a charge from the 110? Or is the converter dead?

check the battery with a volt meter - sounds like you got a battery issue going on
if the battery has 12volts then I would start verifying the output of the converter and or verify what voltage is being sent to the sensor - maybe the sensor is flaking out also

After poking around the forums all night.... I took the battery out of the system, plugged in shore power, have microwave clock light, but no interior lights. All fuses on the panel are ok, and I reset the breakers.

Sounds like a converter issue. Even without the battery the converter should be supplying 12 volts for the lights.

Did experiment. Hooked the battery back up, then jumper cables to my truck. Everything works fine. Took off jumper cables, plugged in shore power, still working fine.

you need to post the year/model of your trailer.
or the model of your converter.
older models sometimes required the battery to be installed to run the 12v things.
i'd suspect that the battery is bad. but using a multimeter at the battery hookups, will show how much juice is flowing the the battery, from the converter.

Still sounds like a bad battery. You boosted the charge just enough for the charging portion of the unit to recon. the battery.

After a couple hours, not so good. Lights work, but if I turn on 2 lights, they get dimmer. The shore power and converter have not charged the battery

have you attached a multimeter to the wires that attach to the battery, to see how much the converter is pushing to the battery?

I just got a multi meter. My old battery was only at 6 volts. So just installed a new battery. Now how do I check to see if the converter is working?

without ac applied to tt take a voltage reading. then take a reading with ac hooked up. voltage should be at least 1 to 1 1/2 volt higher.

can you hear the cooling fan at all when your have several lights on ?
the cooling fan is the weak link in a wfco converter . when the fan gives up the ghost
the converter over heats and shuts down .
once it cools off it starts back up again only to fail miserably a short time later without a cooling fan .
After mine did this a few years ago I replaced it with a progressive dynamics and everything was fine .

No fan noise. Ac plugged in, no reading on the voltage meter for power going to the battery
