No need to drive with propane on. Been at CG for 4 nights now and had a coke from the fridge (put in there after we arrived from the cooler) and it was icy! Fridge is really cold, we turned it down to 4

we drove 7 hours on our last trip and fridge and freezer still did what they were supposed to do -- I'm sure we lost some temp, but all was OK

I just wanted to make a slight correction. You need to turn off the fridge itself when fueling. I would also close the tanks; but the single most important thing is making sure the fridge isn't trying to ignite. That spark when it tries to light could also ignite gasoline vapours.

I have an A126 so the fridge is small. We prechill the fridge at least 12 hours before leaving and pack with cold food items. We dont have a freezer compartment.

When we drive we use 12v for the fridge and it either maintains the cool or gets colder. Back to AC at the CG Or propane when boondocking.

I'm not comfortable with propane when driving.

My fridge is on pretty much on all the time when it is parked at home. When I travel it is set to run on propane. I have never turned mine off when fueling. Not saying that is the right thing to do, I just never have.
