Progressive Industries EMS-PT50

My PI EMS-PT50 has died, it has water running out of it. It worked fine a couple of weeks ago but we did have some heavy rain for several days. I called PI and was told to go to their website and download warranty claim form. upon looking at the claim form, they want my original receipt and pictures of both male and female plugs. I don't have the receipt, I think I bought it from Tweety's. I looked at my account it didn't come from amazon. Has anyone had a warranty claim with PI for water damage. they advertise it to be weatherproof with a lifetime warranty. I just wonder what to expect.

Danny, I can't help you now, but I have news that may help you in the future. I found that cash register receipts are printed with disappearing ink. That's not exactly true, but most cash register receipts fade over time. So, now, I make copies of receipts and file it away. On internet sales, I keep emails and screen prints of online receipts.
I sure hope PI takes care of you.

Unfortunately as much as I love mine and trust it to protect my rig, I think their weatherproof claims are optimistic. I have had mine get water inside twice and had to send it back. They were very nice to deal with and rushed to get it back due to a planned trip, but I don’t think it should happen. I modified a small plastic plant bucket and keep that over and around my unit now and have not had any more trouble with it. If you call them I’m sure you are not the first person that can’t find a receipt.

What did you have to do to get a replacement unit? thanks

Even if not free warranty, I bet they'd refurb it and return it.........for not much $$. Just a guess.

I had mine replaced under warranty for water damage about 2 years ago. Purchased the unit on Amazon so I was able to include a copy of the receipt when I returned it. Had to pay the shipping to get it to them but from that point forward it was no questions asked. Unit was repaired and shipped back to me within 2 weeks. I would do as BandJCarm suggests and see if Tweety’s can print/email you a receipt. That would make the process much easier.

OK, it's 9:00 in the morning and you ain't up yet. I"m about to come bang on the side of your trailer so I can look at it.

Warranty

As far as I remember they offer and honor a lifetime warranty. I think I paid to ship the unit to them and they paid all other costs. The last time when I explained we were leaving for a planned trip they sent a replacement ( probably refurbed) before they even got mine back in the mail. Great customer service !

Update on my Warranty claim with Progressive Industries. After filing the claim with copy of sales receipt and pictures and description of problem I received an email saying my claim had been approved and that a new unit would be shipped to me. Yesterday I received the new unit via UPS. also I was told to dispose of the old unit. Their warrant is truly first class in my opinion .
