Radio in 2019 2509s

The display on our radio is not visible. The dealer replaced the radio because we noticed this problem during our pdi. The only way you can see the display is to get on a step stool to see it at eye level. Even then it is very faint. I know there is a dimmer and I have adjusted it to the highest setting. Does anyone else have this problem?

Has no one ever made them remedy this in their trailer? It’s ridiculous. The radio is useless. My dealer wasn’t aware there was a known issue. He even replaced the radio. I don’t understand why Forest River would approve replacing it under warranty. I don’t believe the display on the radio in my trailer would be any more visible in a new location.

Good news. Forest River is supplying a newer model radio.

It's nothing new. The radio in our 2008 Rockwood was basically useless when anywhere out-of-town and the one in our newer 2018 2608SB is just as bad for reception ... and yes .... they mounted it high up on the wall where the screen cannot be seen unless standing on a stool. The overall electronics supplied with these trailers are essentially JUNK.

This, by the way, is simply comparing no reception in the trailer with great reception in the truck 10 feet away!!!!

Bottom line. Replace everything including radio (receiver), speakers, TV with quality components OR go camping!!!! While it annoys me no end ... I really don't NEED these things when out camping. Just like I really, really don't NEED to have a cell phone clamped on my ear all the time!

Relax. Enjoy the countryside. Go for a walk. Light a camp fire. That's what it's about for me.

Cheers,
John

Did the new radio make any difference? I may go complain if they actually have a fix.
