Received the Winegard Carryout MP1, but I do have an installation question....

I grabbed the MP1, my H21 receiver from my home office and went to work (after giving the Roo a bath).

I thought I best install everything for inside use first. I hooked up the cables, HDMI, power, established the required 18" settings, etc. I then headed outside to get to work on the dish. Not bad! I had the dish pointing in the right direction with a signal of 91 in about 10-15 minutes. I'm more than certain that I'll have a much more difficult time at the campsite, but at least I'm off to a good start.

After the receiver went through the motions, I was watching television. Part Two is next....outside.

Thinking things through for a minute, I couldn't figure out how I would be able to leave the receiver inside, yet set the television outside. Is there such a way?

I ended up running the coax cable from the MP1 dish directly to the receiver located outside, and then plugged the required cables from the receiver to the television. Everything worked as it should after the receiver cycled through.

Is there a better way? I suppose I could run a longer coax cable (or hdmi) from the receiver inside to the television outside, but it would be nice to use the coax connection already installed where you hang the television outside.

Thoughts?
