If the thermal switch riveted to the chimney is tripped, it shuts down everything, even propane side. And there will be NO lights on the front of the refer (control panel) .

When you started the refer, was the coach level? If not, the ammonia doesn't flow through the coils properly and "blocks up" in one of the bends. That is what usually trips the thermal switch.

So here is the update and the drama. Let me set up the story first of all.

So we bought the Georgetown 329 brand new. When purchasing from Mike Thompson's RV at the end of the deal they tell me I have to pay a $425 accessory and delivery fee. This is for a small starter kit (which I did not need as we are already RVers) and the pre-delivery inspection. We do our walk though and the refer was not cooled down as they said that takes a while. We did check most other things.

Now on to the first weekend and where this thread started, our shale down trip. we end up living out of a cooler as the refer never worked. When we got back I set up a time to take in the RV. Last Wednesday was the day. I give them my list of things to fix, including the refer, and they tell me that they will get back to me on the details by Friday. Friday came and went and so I called them Monday. Service tech gone so they needed to call me back which was this morning.

This is where it gets fun. He proceeds to tell me that the "cooling unit" needs to be replaced. Ok that sounds fine, whatever. until he proceeds to tell me that they have to go through what could be a long approval process and part ordering process and it could be weeks before the RV is fixed. This is where I lost my cool. I called the General Manager to let him know that is unacceptable and we already have 2 more trips planned. I get this whole warranty approval process and all the red tape if the unit was a year or something. The coach is brand new, it never worked. I let him know that this was not acceptable to me and they needed to figure something out.

Stay tuned...he was supposed to call me back but has not yet.
