refrigerator

Our refrigerator seems to be working ok but the ice cream is very soft. All the other things in the freezer are ok. IT is very hot and humid outside could this be the cause of the problem?

You are correct. Keep in mind, these trailer reefer's are lame at best. During the day I keep ours at maximum cooling and dial it back one setting before retiring for the night. Try not to open the refer\freezer door too much either. It gets warm real quick. Summer camping, I keep a large cooler outside and have no problems buying 2 bags of ice daily just to keep soda's, beer, condiments and other items you normally keep going into the fridge for in there. Then the refer has a better chance of keeping stuff like ice cream frozen and not a puddle of goo.

Add fans to aid in cooling.

Watch ICE!

There is a freezing plate along the back wall of the freezer. In high humidity (and with the climate control "off") that plate will ice over and insulate the plate from the food.

Take out the frozen stuff and put in a cooler while you defrost it. If running on shore power, make sure the climate control switch is on.

Keep the ice cream on the bottom of the freezer compartment.
