Refrigerator / Furnace issue

2013 2860DS with standard furnace and Dometic 1350 2+2 refrigerator.

Went camping last weekend at the beach. During setup we noticed a E0 error on the led display of the refer. This error code means loss of communication between upper and lower control board. The error caused the refer not to work at all. Moved all food to external refer and carried on with the trip.

Finally was able to get the RV in for service and received a call from the repair tech today.

Seems that the Furnace and Refer are on the same electrical feed. I will add that this is the coldest that it has been since we have owned the RV and did turn the furnace on upon arrival at the camp ground.

The tech said they were calling Forrest River since this was an installation issue and not a dometic issue. Seems the refer is going into a protection mode with the ups and downs of the voltage to protect itself. They hope to have it fixed by tomorrow.

That sounds fishy to me. They're also on the same battery.

I will hopefully pick it up tomorrow and can provide more details. I did not tell them that we had the furnace on as it didn't even occur to me until they said that was the problem.

Would a second battery help with this?

We were on shore power. It has two coach batteries.

I picked up the rv toady and they reported it all fixed. I have not tried yet but will make time this weekend. The fix, according to the tech, was adding a new dedicated breaker to the refer separating the furnace and refer.

Hopefully he meant dedicated fuse, because those things aren't on breakers.

My mistake. Yes he added a new dedicated fuse and so far no issues.

Update

Parked the RV after returning from dealer. Plugged into shower power and made sure the refer was still working. Set the furnace for 60 degrees.

Went and checked on the RV this morning found that the refer was not working and most of the ice had melted. It appears that the furnace came on last night and caused the refer to quit working. I tried to reset the refer and no luck. Also no luck on getting the furnace running.

2 hour drive back to the dealer.
