Refrigerator not Cooling

A friend of mine has a dometic refrigerator in his 2006 All American Sport that quit cooling. I don't know much about these but he says the heating coils get hot to the touch when on auto and it lights the propane burner when on gas but its not cooling. Any ideas or places I can look?

If the coils are getting hot, but the fridge is not cooling the cooling unit has sprung a leak and needs to be replaced. Had to replace mine 2 years ago, it was doing what you just described.

While the cooling unit is probably bad, I'd check it over real well before I decided to replace it.

Look all up and down the cooling unit for signs of leakage.

Depending where you live there are folks that can repair at half the cost. Did this a few years back. All I had to do was remove and take to them. Lot cheaper than buying new. Later RJD

You may or may not find a leak (yellow in color). With mine there was no indication of a leak.

If you get a pin hole higher up in the coils there will be no indication. The unit will lose it's pressure so the liquid will not condense properly, but will not leak because of the hole being higher up the coils.
