Refrigerator propane only

So this literally happen when I was standing next to my refrigerator on the outside because I had just turned on the propane. I had it running on just electric for a few days to have it cooled down and ready to load with food. So the day we are leaving and I go and open the propane I then walked by the side of the camper with the fridge and I could hear it trying to ignite on propane which I thought was weird. I didn't think much of it. Went on our trip which was only boondocking so it had to run on propane only anyway. Last night I tried turning fridge back on and left propane off. Instantly it was trying to start on propane and yes I have it in auto. So I figured I'd just leave it and see this morning. Well when I went out sure enough the check light was lit up. I'm not familiar with these so any help would be appreciated. My first thought was check the plug in for the fridge on the outside. Seems like a cheap plug. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like either you have no 120VAC to the refer or your control board is bad. Call Dinosauer boards, give them refer info, and details of whats happening and let them help you out.

It may depend on model but I'm pretty sure mine only runs on 120v if gas is not available ( turned off). There rest of the time it runs on gas in the Auto position.

Yes.. I actually replaced my control board this summer.

You still have something wrong. By default if both are available, then 120VAC is the choice. Gas, being more expensive is always second choice.

Hmm. Don't know what would cause that. I'm out in it right now and it's running on gas. It also runs on 120 when gas isn't available (we ran out last time we were out and the only way I knew we were out was because the stove didn't work).

The reason we replaced the control board was because it wouldn't stay lit on gas and would only work on 120v.

My guess you got a bad board. Give dinosaur boards a call and talk to them. There pretty good at helping people out with problems.

Have you verified 120v and checked the AC fuse(s) (glass) on the board?

If one or both are blown, (some have two) it will only work on gas cause the board never sees 120v.

Ok so I verified I have 120 and I and verified that both fuses on the board aren't blown. So I ordered a new board and it will be in today. I will let all know how it goes. Thanks for all the help.

Installed new board now it doesn't work at all. Check light turns on right away. I can not return board to dealer got it from because it's an electronic part.

Refrigerator propane only

Ok now I'm very confused and a little frustrated. I figured I better go out and try it again. So I did. Before that I wanted to double check and make sure I had the right board because I noticed it was slightly different in design compared to the old one. In the paper it described this new board being a replacement for the old style. Ok I'm good there. So I install the new board again and same thing nothing works I even open the fridge door and when I push the on/off button the light comes on about 10 seconds I hear a click and the light in the fridge goes out and the check light comes on. I did check the fuses for the camper and they are all ok. So I figure I better put the old board back in and make sure it will still at least run on propane. I hear the igniter start just like it was before except this time it stopped sooner and I know it didn't light because I have the bottles off I look up and no check light is on. So I shut it back off and turn back on and no check light and no trying to light on propane like it is now working with electricity ON THE OLD BOARD!!! Now mind you I did check connections before I ever ordered a new board and all seemed fine. I don't even know what to say. I'm out $100 and now seems to be working on old board. I left it on and I'll go check it later and see if it's still working.
