Refrigerator question

I’m trying to help someone with the operation of their refrigerator.

Their RV (Class B motorhome) has been parked on a slight incline for over a week, and now he’s having trouble getting the fridge to cool. All indicators are correct, and he has lots of propane.

Being that it’s an absorption refrigerator design, is it possible the fridge was on too much of a slope? How long should he have the motorhome parked level before the fridge might start to work? Does it matter whether it’s trying to operate on electric or propane?

RV refrigerators take 24-48 hours to really cool down. Give it time before doing anything drastic.

You can fill it with already cold items, and fill the freezer with a bag of ice to speed up the process.

How much of an incline? If the fridge was off level side to side, the ammonia can collect in the corners of the coils creating a blockage (partially) and not be able to flow naturally due to the incline. If he's got it level now, he may have to shut it down to allow the ammonia to settle. Then start it up again and see what temps he gets after 24 hours or so.

Frost in freezer after about a week of use. It's been this way since it was new (2015). No, we (2 adults) don't leave the door open, we just get ice and sometimes use ice bucket to avoid opening the door. We were in CO so low humidity. We have checked the seals (with the dollar test) and that seems to be o.k. We do have the slide thermostat in the fridge. I can't tell too much of diff when I move it.
