Replacing Genesis 2.0

Just bought a 2011 Roo 23ss and the 2.0 is junk. I am thinking car DVD player as a replacement unless someone here can offer up an alternative. I have inside out side speakers and a rear TV connection. I really am not overly concerned about separating all of them other than turning off outside speakers. Looking forward to your replies.

Since no one replied I did some searching (probably should have done that first) and purchased a Jensen JWM40. I will need to do some wood work but hopefully it is a good unit. Bought it on Amazon $122 also purchased the square trade 4 year warranty for $11.

No experience with this unit, but it looks like it should do everything you need it to do! Only one Amazon review, but a good one from someone who installed it in an RV. Let us know how it works out after you install and try it out!

No HDMI. I do not think they exist. I decided to go simple install and function. Jensen looks like the only brand with any quality. I only use my rig for camping so HDMI and blue ray were not a concern. If I was living in it for weeks at a time I probably would have gone bigger. I will keep you posted.

Jensen makes an RV specific unit, AWM-975 IIRC, that has the 3 zone control, HDMI output and also has an external IR connection. The external IR connection was a big deal for us because the TV swivels and can be viewed from the LR or BR. I added an external IR receiver to control the unit from the bedroom. Only issue is that there is a glitch where the unit will freeze and restart after maybe 10-20 minutes of playing a DVD. Happens regularly and has done it on 2 different units I've owned, so it's apparently a firmware issue. I know at one point Rockford Fosgate also made a unit, and I've seen a different Jensen model in rigs before, but can't remember the model number of it off hand.

After removing the 2.0 and going through some paperwork I found out the 2.0 was the second unit for this camper. Notice the crappy top cut and the eight screw holes. Shimmed up the new unit and cut some new wood to fill the hole. I just need to find a match for the stain and it will be done. Sounds good, wiring it up reminded me of being a kid adding a new unit to my car before all of the cool adapters they have now.

Finished it up today, Terrible pictures but here it is. Also added a RCA pass threw and a 12 volt socket. Big bonus the TV is 12 volt too. Perfect for a TT maybe not high tech enough for a motor home. TV/DVD a few hours a trip compared to living in it.
