residential refrigerator

Will 2-6volt deep cycle batteries keep Samsung residential refrigerator running for 12 hours?

Doors will not be opened during that time period.

Energy guide says refrige draws 1kWh per day.

Yes, if fully charged at the beginning. You can help a little by also turning off the icemaker as well. My measurements have it consuming a little more than that when you include inverter losses, etc. Should be OK.

Thank you.

No ice maker.

God made taverns to get ice.

but, you failed to also suggest that it DEPENDS on MANY variables: outside temp, whether the RV is under cover or not, the amount of FOOD in the fridge, the temp of the FOOD if it is just being put into the fridge before leaving, the TEMPERATURE setting of the fridge while away, etc., etc.,

there are NO guarantees with fridges and batteries - there are too many variables. Your 'range' of time will vary significantly from anyone elses, as your batteries may have a different CONDITION at the time of usage, may be less AMP HOURS than others, and your INVERTER may use more power than others...

so, if you have a Magnum Inverter, and it's remote ME-RC control panel, you can use the
SEARCH WATTS setting, which allows you to tell the Inverter to 'stay asleep' until the Fridge actually CALLS for power(the compressor needs to come on). This helps to save valuable amps during your 'away' period.

but, also remember: your fridge is simply a BIG cooler. If you don't open the doors, and the fridge has had time to get down to temp, it can sit for many hours WITHOUT power and still keep your contents cool. Most things don't really care, except ice cream!

refrigerator

1) High 70's w/rain.(probably no or little sun)

2)Fridge is on 24/7 so food in it will already be cold when disconnect from pedestal power.

3) Fridge temp is 35-38 degrees.

4) Doors will not be opened when on battery power.

Energy star ratings are done at 90 degrees ambient temperature but are only good for relative comparisons, not absolute ones. Good full reefer, at temperature...should be fine.
