Residential Refrigerator

Going to pick-up our new Cardinal tomorrow which has the residential refrigerator. Will it make a difference in the life of the frig whether or not it is keep running when park (not camping) in between trips. We have some short trips plan but DW is still working so trips will be only when she has time off. We have always had , up to this point, had regular electric/gas frig. Could use some advice from you folks with experience with this new type of "ice box".

Shouldn't matter either way. I shut it down when not using and no issues for 2 years. It cools down fast.

Shutting it off between trips will likely extend the life of your fridge.. not to mention saving on your electric bill. In general you would want to start it up to cool a good 12-24 hours prior to loading it up for a trip.

I do thank you guys for your advice, seems like always a learning curve when buying new toys! We usually keep frig running while towing so I guess we will as well with the camper. Usually we only travel five hours tops before we stop for the night so the inverter should keep frig cold for that period of time.
