So, if your CG is 15 hours away... Sure.
But, most campers stay pretty close to home.. Weekends and such.
You would be fine, for at least a few hours.

I agree that is why I only have one battery and not a ton of batteries. As far as turning my fridge on and off I can't see a reason for me or anyone else that does not boondock to do that. Why risk the cold beer!

Now, for those who do boondock I think you ask a good question Kenny about a possible way to preserve the ton of batteries. I think this idea may be useful to some who are trying to preserve their battery power and I see no reason why this would hurt the fridge. It cycles on and off all day long. Just don't forget to turn it back on,

Why even have an inverter?

Short trips to the CG.
No dry camping.

An inverter causes a domino effect.

Inverter, sub panel, batteries, etc.

In a motor home like a Berkshire you do not want to remove the windshield. All Moho's I have seen have a window large enough to get a fridge in and out. Even our Dometic fridge went in and out the slide window. Removing a slide is also not necessary. Removing the windshield more often than not will result in a broken windshield. They cost more than the fridge. I have seen them removed with a fork truck to the slide window and they slide them right in. Fairly easy to do. In my case I had my Dometic replaced with a new Dometic and it required the cabinets over the window to be removed. That was a lot of work but still way easier than removing a slide or worse a windshield.

Well I guess if your only going "short trips" you could probably get by with no inverter but I have traveled over 10 hours on some days without being connected to power. I would hate to see my ice cream melted that night if I did not have an inverter. There is also that chance that you have a breakdown on your "short trip". Honey don't worry.. That hamburger meat is just fine...

The domino theory only goes to people who boondock regularly. Glampers are just fine with one battery and an inverter. I have seen some of your earlier posts and if I remember you are a good example of the domino theory in action..

We absolutely love the size and features of our residential refer especially the ability to make ice. However, on our first trip out this season to Myrtle Beach last week, we realized after getting wet feet in front of the fridge that the water intake valve was cracked. After a trip to Lowes Hardware and another appliance store suggested by the Lowes employee, I was finally referred to PCW Appliance Sales & Service on Hwy 501 in Myrtle Beach. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I was all set to pay for the part, not even thinking about the fact that my camper was less than a year old. Fortunately I happened to be talking to my father in law about this happening on only our third trip. The store employee, Weston Hopkins, having heard us mentioned that the part should be covered under warranty, so I got the part for free. They will even come out to the campgrounds for the service work. I bought a 2016 Lacrosse with the residential fridge with inverter.
I sure hate to ask this for all the negitve remarks and questioning "why?".
But can the inveter be ran while the camper is hooked up to 50 amp?
I really would like to run the inverter to power the fridge or some other AC gadgets.
With the combination of bright sunny days and constant winds, my solar and wind generator contraptions generate plenty of DC power.
I'm not trying to do this for " savings" on the electric bill, cause I'll never get my money back on the gadgets/gizmos purchased to build these contraptions. Just to know I'm putting some green energy to use.

If I remember right my inverter is plugged into a wall socket in the basement. Unplug it and it thinks the AC power is off... You are right, I don't know why you want to do this but this should work.. The inverter output only connects to your fridge..
