Rockwood Mini 2306 furnace - wont light without cover being open

I posted this in the Rockwood forum but thought this might be a more appropriate location.

We took our first trip in our 2306 this past weekend and had some issues with the furnace. When we turned the thermostat to heat and auto and set the temp to an appropriate setting, the furnace fan would blow cold air for about 10 seconds and then nothing. If i took the cover plate off the furnace the burner would light and then seemed to run.

I dont want to have to remove the cover plate every time we want the heat on.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Usually the fan runs for 20 seconds or so then the furnace lights, then a little while longer for heat. Is it possible you just didnt wait long enough? Maybe some how the cover is grounding the ignitor lead or the cover removed is lowering air speed but thats a long shot...
