Roo 21ss fridge/freezer running non stop

We just bought a used 2011 21ss Roo and this was our first weekend using it. Everything seemed to be great until we got home and heard what sounded like the fridge/freezer still running. We were told the unit would only run on gas or electric and we did not have the propane on or it plugged up, so were concerned. The only way we could get the sound to stop was to remove the fuse to the fridge/freezer. Has anyone else had this issue? We were concerned that if we put the fuse back in that either the fridge/freezer would burn up or the battery would drain but we did not think the fridge/freezer worked from the battery.

Welcome to the forum.

If you're refrigerator is like mine, you should have 2 switches on the top. On/off and auto/gas. If you want to shutbthe fridge off, use the on/off switch.

Now, you said you shut the propane off. Did you close both tank valves?

We used the switch to off and had both propane tanks closed and it was still running, or sounds like running so that is why we pulled the fuse on it. Then the sound stopped.

The only noise you would hear is the fan. There is nothing to burn up. But i don't know why the fan would be running if you had it off.

are you sure it's not the converter fan running? it's usually right under the fridge.

We took the battery to be tested and the battery is good. So we put the 15 amp fridge fuse back in and either a fan or a motor is running and it started again so we removed the fuse again and it stopped. Our fridge is only a 2 way so it only works on propane or being plugged in. Does anyone else know what fan or motor would be running for the fridge?

What is mfg and model # of your fridge? In the back of the fridge, from the outside panel, did you look up and see if there is a fan there?

Mine did the same thing. I'm pretty sure it's the extra fan that got added around 2011. The darn thing cycles on and off continuously due to the poor placement of the heat sensor. The fan cuts on and cools the sensor, then goes off, senses the heat and comes on again. I noticed mine kept cycling after I turned off the fridge. It continued until the fridge had completely cooled off after being off for a while. It must function independently of the cooling part. There's an entire thread discussion on this annoying fan, but I don't have a bookmark to that particular thread.

The fridge is model # DM2652RBFX and serial # 02396628 with MFG # 958527980. I looked up in the back panel from the outside and you cannot see a fan but it feels like a fan running and sounds like a fan and it is coming from the upper area of the fridge coils.

ok I was able to see the 2 fans that are running. They are near the top of the fridge in the back panel above the coils. They actually face down. I found the wire that runs to them and it has a fuse in it near the control box. I was able to remove the fuse to make them stop running. Is this going to cause any problems leaving the fuse out while it is not being used and then just putting the fuse back in when we are using the camper?
