Exclamation RV Fireplace thermostat incorrect? Shuts off fireplace heat

A picture is worth a thousand words. Anyone experience this issue?

The fireplace thermostat will get to a point where it is reading some other temp vs the temp in the RV and shut itself off. (the lights remain on, but no heat). Once it "reads" above 82, that's it, it shuts off. Where is it reading the temp from?

Here's the link to the video:

Thanks for any input.

Looks like you may have an intermittent thermister connection. It should be wired where an open fails high. A thermister isn't going to change temp as fast as the display is rising.

Actually, if i turn it on when cold, it acts normal. The temp is correct. But if its on for a few hours the temp in the fireplace will keep going up until it reads above 82 and it turns off. In the video, when i turn it on, it reads 84. (It had been on for a few hours and had shut off) its the only way to reproduce it.
