Samsung microwave/convection

We have a 2004 Lexington 24 ft rv. When we purchased it the display on the micro will not light up. The unit works if you can figure out what to push next! If we replace the micro, do we need to use a special microwave made for campers or can it replaced with any microwave?

You can replace the micro with whatever you wish. It may be hidden, but it just plugs in an outlet like any micro. Just remove the old one first, and then measure the size of the opening. Then find something that will fit the opening and figure out how to secure it.

Since microwaves are generally enclosed in campers, your new one should be front exhaust, especially if that is what the old one was.

And to the forums, glad to have you.

Haveu looked into replacing the control panel? Samsung may supply one at a reasonable price. My experience with sharp is just the opposite.
Another thought would be to open it up (most likely will have to pull to do it) and see if something has come unplugged from the keyboard.

If u replace the oven, with something other than a front exhaust, u will need the built in kit that will move the exhaust out the front..

I replaced an over the range and all that and the wall mounting plate came with it. The wall plate was different from OEM. If the exhaust had been cut thru the trailer wall, they wouldn't have matched either.
