If its all about price and not conveinance then your probably going to want to go with the Winegard Carry Out. All you do it connect the cable and the coax cable, set it on the ground in a resonably level spot, and auto positions for a signal. You will need to signup with one of the satellite companies like dish or directv and get a receiver box as well.
Read more about the specifics Carry Out Quick Start Guide
If you want a more integrated and permanent satellite then it will probably be alot more than $700 and will require either a technician or a very capable person to install it. You can always go to a camping world or try to find a local shop that will do it for cheaper.
If all you need is service and already have the equipment you can just contact the satellite providers and get your service connected. Im not sure as your question wasnt all that specifc

Or get a free dish from a direct tv installer and mount it on a tripod.
Buy a used dish dvr reciever from a reputable seller.
And sign up for dish network package you wish.
Albeit having to aim your own dish, with practice it can be done in minutes.
Total cost 30.00
Dish service 95.00 as I have service at home.

You can go a cheap way if you want to set up the dish yourself. You can make/buy a tripod, mount the dish on it, adjust to the location, aim it and enjoy. We bought another box strictly for the trailer and pay $5/mo for local channels and just call Dish when we go to FL for the winter and have them give us the local channels around Orlando. It usually take me about 10 minutes to set up and about 2 to tear down. To us, it is not worth the $$ for the auto setups.

I have a Winegard carryout. Its easy, quick, and works well. However it will run. $500 or so. If you don't mind searching for a satellite on your own, you can get a Direct tv satellite and receiver probably for free if you sign up. Good luck

The Dish "Tailgater" seems to be popular if you want an automatic system. Personally, I just do my own.

I have the dish tailgater and it is awesome. You just set it in the open. And it finds everything by itself.

I am cheap so I ended up with a Dish Tailgater, fully auto to setup and it was $199 with new service for two years contract. It includes receiver, tailgater and fifty feet of cable. It was the best deal for us because the Tailgater alone at Camping World was $500 at the time. It is on sale now for $350. I had mine shipped from Florida, two day FedEx for free and no sales tax because I am in Texas. Good Luck

I use this same setup, has always worked well for me and usually sets up in about 10 minutes. Directv will even install it in your RV if you don't tell them it's an RV until they show up, Just have the tripod in advance.

Just looked at the dish website and the tailgater portable antenna is $350 without a receiver and $499 with a 211k receiver included. The 211k is the only compatible receiver to use with the tailgater.

Nice thing about the 211K receiver is for $40 one time fee to Dish, you can make it a single tuner dvr. Just supply a hard drive, call Dish to activate the receiver and you have a dvr with no monthly dvr fee.

Hi Horns07, do you set your Tailgater up directly on the ground, elevated on something near ground, or perhaps on roof? We haven't bought one yet, and among the questions I am trying to figure are the location related as well as security - whether to lock the Tailgater up when at site.

i have the tailgator. works great but as said, only works with the 211k. also paid the extra $40 to be able to use an external hard drive and have dvr. dvr function is very smooth.
when i called dish to do the upgrade (to DVR), they wanted to send a tech by to do it. couldn't understand why sense the change is made on their end and sent to the receiver. after being handed off a couple times, finally got someone familiar with the set up. once they sent the code, all i had to do was follow the menus to set it up. that was a year ago. they may have the word out to their service reps by now.
not the cheapest way but really convinent. tailgator does everything thru the coax. no seperate dc connection required to supply it. (carryout requires a seperate dc supply).

It was new from a Dish dealer in Florida. If you looked i would bet that you could find it on Ebay used.
