Bill,
I drilled holes in the three legs and push stakes through them into the ground.
So no wind issues .
As far as aiming I use a couple of apps for my android "also available for I-pad or I-phone to get a good general location.

Basically they use your camera screen and as you hold your phone up to the sky the app overlays the satellite s in your screen to see location.

I'll post apps and do a screen shot.

Once you get it aimed as suggested, you need a signal strength meter to actually find the "birds". Trust me...you can't do that with the indications on the receiver. I like this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002FX...sr=8-1&pi=SL75
but you can get them elsewhere, including Radio Shack.

Ok. Some of the super-humans on this forum can do it. Heck, I've done it, but it's the most frustrating thing I've done in a very long time. Buy the meter.

(As someone said somewhere else: Just because you have 20 years experience doing something and can do it safely, that doesn't mean that you should recommend it to someone with less experience.)
