satellite tv in new rv

I purchased a 2015 Rockwood TT today and I noticed that in the living rm there were three cable connections. One sat and cable and a separate one marked sat bed rm. In the bed room there is a sat and a cable. I currently have just sat and cable in the LR and cable in the BR. So does this mean that once I hook my tailgater up to outside sat. I can then just move the receiver between the LR and the BR. Or do I have to put a jump wire in the LR from sat to Bed sat ? Or am I way off base?Just trying to do my homework so when the new TT comes in I will be ready.

it appears that the reciever will mount in the Living room and you hook up the bedroom cable to the reciever to provide sat to the bedroom.

Well my receiver doesn't have coaxial out to the tv just has hdmi so I wont be able to use it that way. So maybe I can just put a jump wire on LR sat to br sat making that a home run to the br sat and then bring the receiver in the br and hook it up to that connection and it should work ???

just a coax union from sat in to bedroom coax sounds good

Dish has a USB to coax converter for around $20.

You can buy a HDMI to Coax (RG6) converter for the output of the receiver and a Coax (RG6) to HDMI for the TV end in the bedroom.

so with them connections since my receiver only runs one tv I still have to bring the receiver in the br to change channels . Or am I missing something ? Also is that the way the inputs work meaning lv bed sat is a direct line to the br sat input?So if that is the way it works then a jump wire from lr sat br sat will work also?

No you can buy a remote IR or rf control from radio shack or another electronics store.

Ok what I did when I had one Sat rec I put the sat rec before the switch box. and I used the remote to change the channels on the Sat rec. So all I had to do was select what tv I wanted to watch. Better yet if you don't have a selectable switch box. just take the output of the Sat Rec run it thru the HDMI to Cable converter then in to the input of the switching unit. Then use the IR or RF remote unit, to control the channels on the sat rec. another way you may be able to do it some of the new sat rec remote controls use Rf to control the link between the sat rec and is remote. This type of remote will transmit thru walls for a short distance. remember to have you TV on channel 3 or 4 and control every thing with the sat rec remote.

what switch box?? with the tailgater it has to be a direct run from ant to rec or it wont work.so the switch your talking about connects from the rec hdmi out to the switch the to the TV's?

My recommendation is don't bother with satellite in the bedroom. I found that you just won't use it that much. Use your roof antenna for the bedroom tv while you are dozing off.

I have the same set up and a tailgater in my Wildwood TT. The sat only runs to the sat in the living room. That's because the sat in cannot be split. That's why you don't have a sat connection in the br. To get sat in the br you would have to figure out how you could run from the hdmi out on the tv in the lr to the tv in the br and that's a long run for hdmi. I'm going to watch antenna (HD) in the bed room and sat (HD) in the living room, since most of the TV watching will be done in the living room anyway. These manufacturers are not always satellite friendly.

That's interesting. I don't, only in the lr. I suppose if you had a joey set up it would work. With dish the coax from the dish runs to a receiver and then to TV. I don't have a clue how you would do it with your set up. I think you would need two receivers. Sorry can't help more. Maybe you will need to have a dish technician look at it.
