Servicing TV Antenna

Just finished cleaning the roof for the first time (fairly simple process) and I noticed that the Winegard Sensar Antenna requires regular lubrication. The gears for rotation and vertical were simple enough to do but the book says that the rubber quad ring should be lubricated a couple of times a year to prevent leaks.

From what I can gather, the quad ring is below the antenna and is part of the assembly that penetrates the roof. However, the instructions regarding how the access this ring are really quite deficient (at least to me).

Can anyone out in RV land tell me how to get access to this? Do I have to disassemble the unit?

i've never lubed mine but i would consider spraying some silicon lube under the metal base. you should be able to lube it enough to get the spray under it. if they recomend a different type of lube, i would go with that.

I've never lubed my quad ring altho it's prolly a good idea. I used white lithium spray on the gears annually at the beginning of the season. The antenna base doesn't seem to be a major source of leaks....at least not on the message boards. The coax boot and shaft quad seal as the OP stated are usually the culprits.
