Some electrics working...some not
Hi all...my first post and glad to have found my way to the forum.
Got back to my camper last nite ('11 Berkshire bunkhouse) and the appliances don't seem to be getting electricity. Had left the washer running (wet clothes still locked in there) and the furnace on, but the microwave is out, the fridge running on LP. Some wall outlets working, some not. I looked in the external/driver's side fuse box and didn't see anything blown (altho none of them are labeled as being for appliances). I am plugged in to shore power.
I am about as handy as a broken broom so hoping someone may have a suggestion as to what the issue might be or how I can fix.
Many thanks!

Have you checked your breakers? Checked your GFI outlets? sounds like something with 110, not 12 volt which are the fuses. Checked you breaker on inverter, usually a button or switch on inverter. Just some suggestions on what to check. Also have you checked the breaker on the shore power breaker?

Turn all the breakers off and then back on just in case you missed a tripped breaker. . If you have 50 amp hookup one half of the power could be out because it has two hot leads feeding the breaker box. Check shore power for a tripped breaker.

Your AC breakers are in your power center; not sure where that is in a Berkshire.

Look under the end of the bed and you should find them.

Finally found the breakers (yes...under the bed).
Flipped everything off, including shore power, even turned the battery disconnects for chassis and house. Then turned it all back on...nada.
Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but as I was looking for the breakers earlier, but I came across the ATS which looks like it has seen a bit of heat action with some warping on the cover.
I'm already out of my depth with this, so will be making an appointment to have it looked at.
Just wanted to say thanks for all the help...great way to get introduced to the community.

NHpatriot,
When you take it in, have them check the wires on the AC bus bar in the breaker box. We had some come loose and it was giving us some electrical problems. (5 minutes job at most).

Amazing Skip; you were very lucky.
It could have been much worse.

Are you home or on the road? There are a couple of us with 39QS Berkshires in the Nashua NH area. If you are home we might be able to look it over and help

Wow that's generous...could be a while tho...am actually in California at the moment!
Have had some service done on the West Coast before and found a few places for service.
Thanks for posting the recall link...will definitely have that looked at! Just thankful nothing really bad has happened.

The brand of the recalled AC switch was IOTA. If you still have it in your coach Forest River will provide a new replacement. Get it out fast as under load it can catch fire. With the coach unplugged from AC open the switch and see if any of the wires looked burned or are loose.
good luck
