Stereo Equipment Problem

My new Salem TT came with a Drive entertainment system. It went bad, Black and White video playback with lines running through the picture.

I replace it with a new iRV Receiver about 8 months ago. It did the same thing two weeks ago, all video playback, DVD, SD card, USB drive will only playback black and white and it too has lines running through it.

iRV has replaced it under warranty. The replacement hasn't been installed yet.

What kind of wiring or hookup could cause this to happen to a second unit? Does anyone have any ideas?

Cheap cables will do that. Low quality, poor connections.

Or really old worn out plugs.

Do you have another monitor (HDMI input) you can test with to make sure it isn't the TV? Also, as mentioned, cables are cheap and easy to try.

Thank you, John. I checked the TV and it's working properly. I installed a new A/V cable and ran it directly from the stereo unit to the TV. I'll see if I still have the problem on down the road.

I did notice in the stereo units manual......

When there is no color on video.
Turn off the unit and restart the unit again.
Use Factory Default Restart.
FACTORY DEFAULT RESTART
Press and hold POWER button for 5 seconds Unit will
shut off. Restart unit by pressing the ON button. Factory
defaults will be reset with this type of restart.

I'm surprised the customer service didn't mention this.
