I like to keep the refrigerator cold when rolling...need the propane for that.

One fall when we winterized I forgot bread and buns in the oven. In spring the Wonderbread was green and the all natural german bread I prefer was stale but looked normal with no mould.

We wrapped our frying pan in paper towels and stored it in the oven when we were traveling. Oops! When we sold our trailer (to get a new one), we forgot it was in there and lost a very good stainless steel frying pan. We won't forget to check the oven if we ever trade the new trailer in.

I sewed old jeans into a pillowcase like cover for my cast Iron skillets and have never had any issues storing them in the oven..

Storage in an oven

We use the oven on almost every trip. Hand-rolled scratch biscuits, cinnamon bread, cherry pie, cookies, pizza, and birthday cakes sure smell good in the camper. I don’t store anything because I don’t want to accidentally melt anything while preheating.

If you put them, or anything else you wish to store there in a cardboard box it will prevent them from hitting the enamel and chipping it.

This what we do!

We don't use any glass cookware. Have never used the oven in the 5 years we have owned the camper.
