Suburban furnace

I have a suburban furnace that wont lite. The fan runs but does not ignite. I pulled the furnace out and bench tested it. The igniter sparks and then stops sparking, and I think the gas valve closes because there is a thump. Does that mean the gas valve is bad?

Did you check that you are actually getting gas flow? The ignitor will stop and gas valve close if flame is not proofed within a certain time. Check the gas nozzle for obstructions

You could fabricate a test line with LPG tank and regulator. If it’s like what I am familiar with it will be 1/2” SAE flare connection.

I don't know where the OP lives but I used my furnace last weekend. It was 37* when we got up Saturday morning.

I had a issue with my new Cherokee not igniting and found out that the factory put in the wrong igniter. The igniter was not long enough to reach the gas port.
