Suburban hot water heater FYI
Just a little FYI. I found that our heater element wasn't getting power this past weekend and the only heat source we had was gas. After taking the basement apart in our 2012 Sandpiper so I could access the wiring I found I had power at the breaker, the electrical box and at the rocker switch outside. I removed the switch and checked the resistance and found the switch to be good. I had previously reset thermals for both the electric and gas. At this point I couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting power to the element. I finally removed the cover plate to the thermals and found that the electrical thermal was broken on one of the contacts and not allowing power to pass thru to the element. Replaced the thermal switch and everything is back to normal now. A whole lot of tracing electrical lines and checking power to figure out it was a simple fix all on the outside of the camper. Hopefully, this can help someone else out there diagnose their power issues.
