Suburban stove flame to low from pot

The flame, when on high, is no where close to the bottom of the pot. So I can't heat up any food. There is a metal tab underneath the stove top. Is it supposed to "latch" down into the stove? Mine is just resting on it.

I recommend posting a few pictures of the stove top, tabs, and how it looks where they join to help others see your stove.

pics

Here are some pics of my issue. The flame does not reach the bottom of the pot, therefore the food does not heat. There is a metal latch type thing and a notch, but I don't know if it is supposed to latch down or not. I can't get it to "latch" and I don't want to force it if it is not supposed to be. Thanks for your help.

Did you ever resolve this? I have the same problem and I was assuming my burners were not putting out enough flame.

The first thing I'd do is check the gas pressure. It should be 11" WC (water column). Especially if it worked in the past and now doesn't.

Yes, I did. When inserting the grate, I was putting the back in the slots first and could not get the front latch to snap down. So I finally put the front latch in first and then did the back and it worked. So the trick is to start at the front when reinstalling the grate.
