Sunseeker 3170ds Sirius Antenna Wiring

I just bought a 2015 3170ds, and see the Sirius antenna embedded on the roof. I cannot find the plug in end though. I looked behind the Jensen device. All I could find is the place for the SXV100 bus. Any ideas on where else to look for it?

Not sure what you mean by “embedded” on the roof.
Is it secured with silicone or caulking or some sort?

Regardless.....being that it’s a 2015 model, I suspect the previous owner did the Sirius antenna install because I’ve not heard of factory Satellite antennas back in the 2015 models. Just sayin’

Are you sure that what you are seeing is a XM /siruis antenna. My 2017 does not have a factory installed antenna. Even though the radio is XM ready.

I keep the antenna centered in the cab over. Works just fine. The roof materials are transparent to the frequencies used by XM.

Basically it is calked with self leveling lap. It looks embedded..... It is next to where the over the air antenna cable enters the RV. I do not see it in the cabinet where the rest of the TV type cabling is. If the previous owner ran it I may never find it.

I am sure it is the SiriuisXM antenna; it is written on it. I may resort to placing it on the dash. I was just thinking to use what is already there, and get a cleaner looking installation.

If it was installed by the previous owner it could be anywhere. Have you checked behind the dash radio and the house radio. It may have been used for a docking style radio in either or both locations.

I did look behind the dash radio, but I did not look behind the house radio. Good thought, thanks. I will look there tomorrow.

My 2014 3170 with the Magadyne POS stated on the front to be XM Ready. You had to purchase an XM module to plug into the back of the magadyne, than plug in the antenna and route it. I suspect the Jensen was the same. There were lots of post discussing XM in 2013/2014.

Thanks for the pointer. I searched, but did not find that thread. I guess I search more restrictively. It appears people have had issues with mounting the antenna on teh dash. I tested on my dash with a Stilleto 2 and the head phone antenna. It did well, but I was not moving.....
